Jacquelline Dunnell Parrish was born on August 27, 1954 to the late Hastina Zinamon and Robert Lee Dunnell. She passed away on June 11, 2019.
Jacquelline, known as “Jackie”, was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Even though she had only one living son, she was a mother to many. Jackie was also known as “Mama Jackie” to many of her son’s friends. She was the matriarch of Benedict Road. Everyone in the neighborhood congregated at her house on any given day and she welcomed them. Jackie was educated in the public schools of Duval county and graduated from William M. Raines High School in 1972. She was employed in the Healthcare field and worked many years until she retired. Jackie married her childhood sweetheart, Carlton Parrish, Sr. and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her first born “Baby Boy” Parrish; husband, Carlton Parrish, Sr.; her longtime companion of 21 years, La-Kendall Anderson; and two brothers: Emory Dunnell and Robert Dunnell. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one child, Carlton E. Parrish, Jr. (Natalie); stepdaughter, Brittney Anderson; Sisters: Gloria Richardson, Yvette Lesesne (Alfonso), Martha Hamilton (Berry), Emma Freeman and Gloria Taylor; Sisters-in-law: Gladys Parrish, Ella B. Taylor, Gloria Parrish and Jeannette Dunnell; Brother-inlaw, Walter Parrish; Grandchildren; Car’le, Taylor, Carlton III and Christopher; Great grandchildren: Wa’Keem, Ke’Maun and Ke’ing; and a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
