Charles was a man who took great pride in his work and his many roles. He was employed by Amazing Trucking Company as a driver, where his commitment and reliability were well recognized. His memory will be cherished most dearly by his loving wife, Renita Thomas-Nelson, who stood by his side through all the seasons of life. He was a devoted father to his children: Danielle Nelson, Charles Tony Nelson, and Rashad Maxwell. Charles also took immense pride in his grandchildren, whose lives he touched with his warmth and kindness. A treasured brother to Gail Nelson-Lewis, Charles was surrounded in life and will be remembered fondly by a host of loving relatives and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Nelson Sr. and Mary T. Nelson, whose legacy of strength and love he carried forward throughout his life.
