Dorothy Lee Hamilton, born on May 6, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026. Over the course of her ninety-eight years, she touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy marked by kindness, resilience, and quiet strength.

Dorothy’s journey began in the vibrant city of Chicago, where she first learned the values of compassion and perseverance that would guide her throughout her long and meaningful life. Her story is one of steadfast dedication to those around her and a deep commitment to living with integrity and grace.

Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Sylvia, Ruth, Geraldine, Raymond (Marie), Henry, and Daniel; a host of grands, great grands and other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death  by her husband, Henry Hamilton, Jr.;  two children, Marshay and Joseph. 

The community is invited to honor Dorothy Lee Hamilton’s life and memory at the visitation, which will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Weston’s Mortuary, located at 3027 Myrtle Ave N, Jacksonville, FL 32209. The funeral service will follow the next day, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at the same location.

Dorothy’s remarkable life serves as a lasting inspiration. She will be remembered for the love and light she brought into the world, and her presence will be deeply missed.
