He turned backyard gatherings into cherished feasts and earned, with much affection and pride, the title of “grill master.”
With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Elliott Eugene Williams Sr., whose journey began in Palatka, Florida, on March 11, 1962, and drew to a close on June 21, 2026, in Jacksonville. Elliott’s presence was unforgettable, and his warmth was felt deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Elliott embodied the kind of joy and togetherness that transforms an ordinary day into an indelible memory. Known throughout his family and community for his masterful skill at the grill, he turned backyard gatherings into cherished feasts and earned, with much affection and pride, the title of “grill master”—serving, as his loved ones fondly recall, the best BBQ in the world. Each smoke-tinged meal bore his signature flavor: a blend of generosity, laughter, and skill that will linger on in countless grateful hearts.
Born in Palatka, Elliott’s roots ran deep, and he carried the lessons and love of his birthplace with him as he grew. His journey through life touched many, especially his family, whom he nurtured, protected, and loved fiercely. Among those mourning his passing are his siblings, who shared not just blood but countless memories and steadfast support; his son, Elliott Jr., who carries forward his name and the spirit of his kindness; and both a devoted sister and another brother, each holding dear their own tapestry of moments shared with Elliott. Their bond remains, woven through memories and the lessons Elliott imparted.
Though words can hardly capture the individuality and warmth that Elliott brought into every room, they do bear witness to the legacy he leaves behind: one of unwavering faith in family, a passion for bringing people together, and a life flavored by laughter, hard work, and the smoky fragrance of a barbecue well-tended. He filled ordinary hours with joy, and even now, his tenderness continues to inspire and comfort those who grieve his loss.
Family, friends, and all who wish to pay their respects are invited to gather for a visitation on July 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Weston’s Mortuary, located at 3027 Myrtle Ave N, Jacksonville, FL 32209. A Celebration of Life will follow on July 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church of Crescent City, 608 Randolph St, Crescent City, FL 32112.
In honoring Elliott Eugene Williams Sr., we remember the countless ways his life shaped our own. Though he is no longer with us, his warmth remains—a radiant ember, urging us to gather close, share stories, and savor all that we have meant to one another.
