Jerry Paul Kendrick, 74 affectionately known as “The Govenor,” passed away on September 1, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on October 14, 1951, in Bridgeboro, Georgia. His passing leaves a deep sense of loss for those who knew and loved him, and he will be remembered with affection and respect.

Jerry attended New Stanton High School and graduated with the Class of 1971 and attended Edwards Water University and graduated with the Class of 1975. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Liszette Kendrick; his daughter, Tameka Kendrick; his son, Jerrett Kendrick; his step-son, Freddrick Crutchfield; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Kendrick and Dan Kendrick (Janet)  and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Weston’s Mortuary, 3027 Myrtle Ave N, Jacksonville, Florida 32209. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Church, 215 Bethel Baptist St, Jacksonville, Florida 32202. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206.

Jerry Paul Kendrick’s life will be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to his family and friends, and may he rest in peace.
