Obituary

always ready to listen, always attuned to the needs of others

With heavy hearts and fond memories, we remember the life of Jordan Omar Sims, who was born October 5, 1983, in the warmth of St Augustine and departed from this world on June 5, 2026, in Jacksonville. Jordan touched many lives, and the echo of his presence will linger as a testament to the gentle strength and kindness he brought into the lives of those around him.

Jordan’s journey began in St Augustine, where his spirit and curiosity flourished in the embrace of family. From his earliest days, he was known for his generous heart—always ready to listen, always attuned to the needs of others. The bonds Jordan created extended through each chapter of his life, quietly illuminating his surrounding world with compassion and steadfastness.

He is mourned by his devoted mother, Charlotte Mask-Sims, who always cherished Jordan as a son and confidant. His family circle also remains strong in the loving arms of his uncle, Charles Mask Jr., and aunt, Judy Mask, who each shared not only laughter and stories, but a companionship that Jordan treasured deeply. He will be deeply missed by his host of cousins. In life, as in memory, Jordan looked up to the legacies of his late grandfather, Charles Mask Sr., and his late grandmother, Lilly Mae Mask—beloved elders whose guidance shaped his values and whose absence he felt profoundly and his aunt Rose Ella Simmons  and uncle Henry Lee Black.

Though his journey was far too short for those left behind, the love he gave and received enriched every day he shared with family, friends, and community. Jordan’s kindness, loyalty, and quiet humor will forever be remembered—a lasting legacy written on the hearts of all who knew him. Moments spent in his company were filled with thoughtful conversation, subtle wisdom, and a warmth that made even the simplest occasions feel special.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life in honor of Jordan Omar Sims on July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Weston's Mortuary, 3027 Myrtle Ave N, Jacksonville, FL 32209. Following the service, interment will take place at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.

As we say goodbye, let us remember Jordan for his unwavering care, his quiet resilience, and his enduring love for those around him. His grace and spirit live on in the memories we share and in every act of kindness inspired by his example.
