Lynette Kadell Jones, affectionately known as Nette, was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 29, 1960. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother whose life was defined by her love for family and community. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. A proud graduate of Old Stanton High School, Class of 1978, Lynette continued her education at Florida Community College at Jacksonville. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to helping others. She worked with special needs adults at Darnell-Cookman, served as a patient advocate at University Hospital, and later worked for Vistacon.
Lynette was known for her fun-loving, outgoing personality. Growing up, she was known for her flair for fashion and the way she was always
beautifully put together—from her hair and nails to her favorite perfume. Her sense of style was a reflection of the confidence and personality that made her uniquely Lynette. Lynette peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on September 30, 2026, at the age of 66. She spent her final six weeks surrounded by her loving family, who provided constant care and companionship.
Lynette was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Charlie and Geneva Jones.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Lynette is survived by her daughters, Jessica Reed and Jazmine Reed (Sean); her mother, Ruth McIntyre (Roy); her aunt, Patricia Jones; her siblings, Martin Jones, Alvin Bess (Lina), Selena Evans, and Roy G. McIntyre II; her grandchildren, Agabus Jr., Makayla, and Shaunie, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
