A Celebration of Life

In Loving Memory of Vernon and Sheila Tudor.

Vernon, aged 90, and Sheila, aged 88, passed away within days of each other—a profound testament to the unbreakable bond they shared throughout 63 wonderful years of marriage. Though their departure leaves an irreplaceable void, we find solace in knowing they are together, as they were in life.

Our mother Sheila was a beacon of love and compassion. As a retired Nurse, devoted mother & grandmother, her life's mission was caring for others. Her kind spirit, selfless devotion to others and love of entertaining made every gathering a joyful occasion. Her passion for giving back to her family in Guyana, South America  and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cherished were unmatched.

Our father Vernon was a hardworking and devoted man of God, a retired Social worker, Clinical and Behavioral therapist & Educator, he was known for his unwavering integrity, deep dedication to his family, and love of learning. He was a gifted writer & archivist documenting family and Pan-African culture & history. Mentor and guide to many, he had an extraordinary ability to light up any room with his wisdom, humor, and warmth.

Together, Vernon and Sheila built a life rich with love, laughter, and faith. They were the heart of their family & community, teaching & healing, sharing the value of kindness, compassion, hard work, and cherishing life's small, meaningful moments. Their love for one another was an inspiration to all who knew them, and their legacy lives on in the family they treasured.

They are survived by their sisters, Monica Tudor, Claudia Peters, their children, Bryan, Afia & son in law, Shomari, Kim, Allyson, Stephen & Daughter in law Samantha, their cherished grandchildren, Minkah, & daughter in law, Zuleika, Jahi, Jonathan, Ausura, Jeremiah, Kes-Tchaas, Joel, Baka-Ari, Ioseph, Nehemiah, Sekani, Jahzara, Yamiyna Maat, TaNeter Maat; and their great-grandchildren, Destiny, Diashawn and D'Angelo.

Survived by family in their homeland of Guyana, their extended family in the United Kingdom where they lived for 25 years, Canada and their final resting place in the United States.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are eternally grateful for the memories and love they poured into our lives.

A joint celebration of their lives will be held on Saturday 1st February at 10am EST at Refuge Center Church of God
