Surrency - Funeral service for Mr. Carlton Gene Surrency will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00AM in the Edith Weston Chapel . Visitation will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5-7PM. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 10:00AM.

Carlton Gene Surrency, beloved son, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2023. Born on June 28, 1942 in Lyons, Georgia, to Sing and Edna Surrency, Carlton was the second child of three siblings. He graduated from Mathew W. Gilbert Junior and Senior High School in 1960 and went on to serve in the United States Navy. After his military service, Carlton worked as an Aircraft Electrician Foreman for over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, dancing, and golf.

Carlton was preceded in death by his parents, Sing and Edna Surrency; daughter Carlita Rene Surrency; sister Buelah Banks; second wife, Betty Surrency.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Donna Surrency Stoney, Carlton Surrency II and Danyel Surrency Jones (Darnell), as well as bonus daughter, Nicole Jackson; brother Russell Surrency (LaVern), sister Ruthie Surrency Williams; grandchildren Cortney Surrency, Sydney Stoney (Jasmine), Carlton Surrency III (Shaneika), Carlmani Surrency, Carmari Surrency, Hartley Rose Jones, Harper Jones; bonus grandchildren Breshanna Jackson, Cameron Troutman; great-grandchild, Caiden Surrency; bonus great-grandchild Ashton Starks; special son-in-love Kenny Stoney and special friend Sabrena McCrimager; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be deeply missed and cherished.  A memorial service will be held to honor Carlton's life and legacy. May his soul rest in love, power and peace.
